“I discovered Huellas Latinas by reading a Minnesota DNR newsletter titled “Women in Conservation.” It seemed like a great idea to reconnect with my Latin roots, since I only speak Spanish to my daughter on a daily basis (at home we speak French with my husband) and I’ve been away from Mexico for almost 20 years. Even better if it’s by sharing an activity that I love and can do with my daughter! I wasn’t disappointed; I’ve loved the group and the activities!”

“I joined Huellas Latinas to stay connected with my community and enjoy the outdoors with people who may have similar experiences to mine, and who can understand the transition of moving here from another state, or even another country. I felt very isolated when I first moved here. Minnesota is finally starting to feel like home now that I’ve started attending hikes with Huellas Latinas and other events with groups that focus on people of different races and nationalities.”

“Huellas Latinas has given me a sense of belonging and connection to my Latino/Hispanic community. I’ve met so many wonderful people and shared incredible experiences, including my first time camping! Thank you, Huellas Latinas, for making me feel like part of a community, helping me put down roots, and making me feel like part of a family!”
