Caminatas en la naturaleza con familias latinas

Nature Walks with Latino Families Programs aims to encourage participation in outdoor activities, such as hiking, as a means to improve the physical, mental, and emotional health of the Latin community, making this practice a lifestyle. Through this program, families have the opportunity to learn various ways to connect with nature, acquire knowledge, and develop new hiking-related skills.

Hikes take place in various counties within the metropolitan area of Minnesota, allowing exploration of new environments and strengthening the sense of belonging. Group hikes provide an excellent opportunity to meet new people, build friendships, and foster a sense of community.

All our outdoor activities provide an inclusive environment and welcome individuals of all races, genders, ages, nationalities, religions, sexual orientations, and ability levels, as well as their pets. We believe that everyone can benefit, have fun, and learn about recreation in Minnesota.

These hikes, tailored for beginners in their different versions, may or may not include birdwatching, games, picnics, photography, night hikes, or other complementary activities for learning and enjoyment.

Since 2021, this program has been developed in partnership with significant collaborators, including: Saint Paul Parks and Recreation, Centro Tayrone Guzman, Audubon Minneapolis Chapter, Yoga para La Gente, Dakota County Forever Wild Parks, Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge, Minnesota Valley Refuge Friends, Trellis & Juniper, Dodge Nature Center, Great River Greening, CAPI, COPAL, Minneapolis Parks Foundation, and Three Rivers Park District.
