Nieve, agua, ruedas o altura

The changing seasons and the abundant natural resources of Minnesota provide us with the opportunity to enjoy other fun outdoor activities. During the summer, we can spend time on the water paddling kayaks, canoes, or paddle boards and even fishing. Additionally, summer also presents an opportunity for bicycle rides or try new activities like rope climbing or bouldering. On the other hand, during the winter months with abundant snow, we can enjoy snowshoe hikes and cross-country skiing.

The Snow, Water, or Wheels program takes advantage of this to introduce the Latino community to these specific activities according to the season. This allows everyone the chance to enjoy seasonal activities, following the dynamics of Minnesota’s weather, thereby achieving a process of adaptation and belonging to their new home while developing new skills in the natural environment, recognizing the significant benefits that these experiences bring to individuals’ physical, mental, and emotional health.

All our outdoor activities offer an inclusive environment and welcome people of all races, genders, ages, nationalities, religions, sexual orientations, and ability levels, as well as their pets. We believe that everyone can benefit, have fun, and learn about recreation in Minnesota.

These activities take place in local or regional parks, lakes, or rivers. No experience is necessary. Equipment may or may not be included.

Since 2022, this program has been developed in collaboration with important partners such as Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge, Minnesota Valley Refuge Friends, Dakota County Forever Wild Parks, Wood Lake Nature Center, Three Rivers Park District, Minnesota Bike Alliance, and Wild River Conservancy, American Alpine Club Twin Cities, Baztec.
